10-minute Morning Self-care Routines For Busy Moms

Hey mama: your well-being is important too. Between taking care of your child(ren) and for some, working full-time jobs, it's almost too easy to forget to make time for yourself.

Here at MamaMoor, we believe it's important to make time and care for oneself, even for just a few minutes in the morning. After all, it's the little things that make a significant impact on our well-being.

Instead of jumping into the rush of motherhood and the day ahead, here are four steps you can incorporate in your morning routine to start your day nice and slow.

1. Put Your Phone Down

Grabbing your phone from the nightstand first thing when you wake up is like second nature for a lot of us (we're guilty of it too!). While it's tempting to check emails, read messages, or scroll on social media, why not relish the first few moments of peace and quiet?

Instead of using your phone right away, do what helps you create a positive start to your morning. It can be something simple as writing in your journal or creating a gratitude list — it can be whatever you want it to be as long as it makes you feel good.

Soothe your mind and senses with our LED Reed Diffuser Stick Set. Choose from five unique and soothing scents to bring comfort and relaxation around your room or living space.

Here are quick prompts you can write or say out loud:

    • What are three things you are grateful for this morning?
    • What are three things you want to prioritize? (Including yourself, mama!)
    • What's something about yourself that you're most proud of?

It will take a few moments to say out loud and may feel awkward in the beginning, but it will have a positive impact on your day.

      2. Do Some Light stretching

If you wake up feeling tired and sluggish, stretching in the morning could help. And no — you don’t need to do a full workout as soon as you wake up.

Doing light stretches (even in bed!) is one way to boost your morning and energize your body for the day ahead. And it doesn’t have to be a long one, it can be as short as ten minutes — some movement is better than no movement after all!

      3. Give Your Skin Some TLC

Say it with us: skincare is self-care. We know mornings are busy for moms but that doesn’t mean you should ignore your morning skincare routine.

You don’t need an overly complicated routine and setting aside a few minutes for your morning skincare routine keeps your skin healthy and nourished for the day. Make your routine luxurious and relaxing by lighting a candle while listening to soothing music.

Take a few minutes to hydrate and replenish your skin. When your skin feels refreshed and hydrated, it can elevate your mood for the day. Try our Time Reversing Gold Cream to help smooth out any dry or wrinkled skin and you’ll thank us later.

      4. Take Time For Yourself

It’s time to back the good in the good morning, mama. Whether that’s making your morning coffee or watering your houseplants, it’s crucial that you slow down and make time for yourself in the morning.

If you’re all about retail therapy (because who doesn’t like shopping during some down time), take some time to browse our website.

It goes without saying that motherhood is full of moments that are both exciting and exhausting. That is why we mean it when we say slow down, mama. You are important too.
